Moss is a grey East Coast bred. As a four year old he was selected as one of the company horses for ‘The Hobbit’ and featured as one of the 12 greys for the elves to ride. Moss was also one of the dwarves horses in the film coping well with the demands of being on a film set and wearing a padded hairy suit to look like a shaggy pony! He is a real special individual that is a pleasure to ride. Moss recently featured in a fashion shoot for We’Ar clothing.
Mangu Sir Robs Fenwick’s latest addition to the team stands just shy of 18hh and is coal black. Also from New Zealand’s East Coast. He started life as a pack horse on pig and deer hunting expeditions, then run with hares and hounds at Hawkes Bay hunt, a magnificent and very speical horse.
Ranger Is a 16hh Warmblood paint by a popular American paint stallion ‘Brewed too Hot’ He’s a lovely quiet boy to ride, with lots of personality and very affectionate. He’s a horse that adjusts to the riders ability novices to advanced.
McLeod is a 10.3hh (on his tip toes) white welsh pony with attitude beyond his size. A great pony for little kids to learn to ride on.
Felix is a chestnut stationbred with his beautiful looks and placid nature he really is a star and a horse any one can enjoy and that has had an illustrious film career and long list of film credits.
Harry is a grey stationbred that was purchased for ‘The Hobbit’. He has had a huge career as an eventer and hunts master’s horse who is fun to ride for people with some experience. Harry is the lead horse of the herd.
Dorado is a gorgeous Andalusian cross, only recently broken in and the sweetest natured little horse. His unique colouring is ‘burnt chestnut’ with the Andalusian metallic shine and docile nature that the breed is known for.
Marmite is a bay Kaimanawa and a real enigma. He is the little big horse and if he was a weight lifter he’d be Precious Mackenzie! The most sure footed horse in the team that really lifts above his weight while being incredibly safe to ride.
Apache Is a leopard Appaloosa 16.6hh. He’s a lovely quiet and gentle horse who is great with kids.
Major The elder statesman of the team Major is a really special pitch black NZ Station bred. A horse that puts his heart into his work and is great for beginners. Although he’s due for his gold card he still loves to be with the team and kept useful. Major really deserves a medal.
